MISSION BBQ

I want to give 6 stars to make up for the folks that didn't give 5 stars because they definitely are a 5 star joint. The service was exceptional as was the food. The bonus strawberry shortcake was a delicious surprise. We were impressed enough to look up info on them and were surprised to find out that it is a chain! The first one opened on 9/11/11, the 10 year anniversary of 9/11. They recognize and honor the military and first responders. We were there before noon and at noon everyone stood for the national anthem. So if you love barbecue and America, this is definitely the place to eat. 7 stars and 3 thumbs up. PS. Gus rocks!

Food was great. The few slices of brisket I received were a little too fatty for my liking and I couldn't eat half of it. The sauces are all delicious.

Really friendly people work here, and they’re very polite as well. I’ve mentioned before I’m not a fan of barbecue, especially eating out. I’m fine with backyard burgers and grilling at home. My wife loves barbecue though so I went along for the ride. I was rewarded with a huge smoked burger with cheddar cheese, lettuce & tomato. The fries and slaw I chose as sides were tasty too. My wife had macaroni & cheese which was top shelf, and green beans with bacon. She said her pulled pork was better than City Barbecue, which where we come from are fighting words! I would return to this place anytime as there were several options on the menu that looked appealing even to a non-barbecue person like myself. The six different sauces they offer are situated on each table and they are all really good.

I've been here several times and have always had a great meal. Today I ordered something different - a Smokehouse Cheeseburger. The cheeseburger came with a nice, charred crust, and it was well done - just like I expected. However, it wasn't dried out, like usually well done comes out. I think I'll stick to the pulled pork sandwich. As usual the service was outstanding.
