MINKA NIKKEI

As a Peruvian who truly loves Peruvian food, I can honestly say Minka Nikkei is one of the best restaurants in New Jersey. The food is absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and beautifully prepared. Every time we visit, we try new dishes and they never disappoint — everything is consistently excellent. The fusion is done perfectly, respecting Peruvian flavors while adding a refined Japanese touch. You can really taste the quality and care in every plate. On top of that, the atmosphere is warm, cozy, and friendly, making you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. It’s the kind of place you want to come back to again and again. Highly recommended — a must-try for anyone who loves Peruvian food or is looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

I brought my husband to this restaurant for the first time to celebrate his birthday. It was a great choice. When we walked in the atmosphere was warm, cozy and friendly. Our servers Pass and Louise were super friendly and knowledgeable not only about the menu but about the restaurant and its history. Everything was delicious. We ordered seafood ceviche, the Lomo Saltado with filet mignon , and the jalea. The canchas were the high quality ones (roasted corn appetizers). We’re already planning to return with our friends and family. Just one thing, BYOB.

Minka Nikkei in Cliffside Park is a hidden gem that perfectly blends Peruvian spice with Japanese umami. Every dish feels intentional creative, balanced, and beautifully plated. You can really taste the care in each bite. We loved the Ceviche Minka Nikkei with mahi mahi and bright aji amarillo, and the Hokkaido Scallop Crudo was incredibly fresh and silky. The Nigiri Nikkei Plate brought such a fun twist on traditional sushi, and the Miso Glazed Halibut was perfectly cooked with that rich miso butter sauce. The Seco Norteño (braised short rib) was melt-in-your-mouth good. It’s family-owned, BYOB, and the atmosphere feels cozy yet elevated the kind of spot you instantly want to come back to. Bring your own wine or make a mocktail everything here pairs beautifully. Highly recommend!

Wish I had know about this place sooner! Tucked away in Cliffside Park, a delicious Peruvian restaurant! Everything was amazing but the scallops and the potatoes were the most memorable. Definitely recommend stopping by at least once ☺️
