I walked in looking for a small lunch before I continued working. I did not realize I was about to have one of the most tasteful meals of my life (not joking)! I did not recognize many of the items on the menu, but I was lucky enough to have Ledjo as my server. He did an amazing job giving me recommendations and explaining the heritage of the traditional Albanian dishes. The restaurant is beautiful and covered in Albanian photos and designs. Ledjo took the time out of his day to talk about each photo and the meaning behind everything. It really made this restaurant stick out to me, as I not only enjoyed the food, but I also felt like I learned something while eating here! If you’re looking for a slice of the Balkans in New Jersey, Dodona Cafe is a must-visit. The atmosphere is incredibly authentic; you feel the Albanian hospitality the moment you walk in. The space is spotless, and the staff are warm and genuinely welcoming. While the portions are a little smaller relative to the price point compared to some other local spots, the quality and the experience make it worth the spend. Whatever you do, do not leave without trying the Shendetlie. It’s a traditional honey and walnut cake that is perfectly soaked and absolutely delicious. A great spot for a relaxed, high-quality lunch.

My family and I had a wonderful time at Dodona Cafe. It was very warm and inviting, with dishes that really make you feel at home. The service was excellent, especially considering how many people were there. We ordered a mixed meat platter, a dip appetizer, and so many more dishes! So glad to see an Albanian restaurant in our area and we will definitely be back!!!

Had a very pleasant experience here for dinner while visiting the area from Ohio. Felt comfy and cozy while dining here and welcomed by the friendly staff and owner. Food was great and there was nice music too. I’m waiting to come back again and have some coffee and sweets and also to try more food items for lunch. Definitely a great place with good vibes and cooler than other restaurants we went to. Special and unique.
