Minami Teriyaki

We’ve been long time Minami fans! I remember coming into Minami’s when my daughter was a little girl and the food was good, even then. It was one of her favorite places to eat. I think there may be new owners, but nothing has changed. My daughter is not little anymore and visiting from DC, so she begged us to eat at Minami’s on the way to PDX, for her trip back to the concrete jungle! The teriyaki is still delicious and the portions are generous! The plates come with a delicious, crunchy iceberg lettuce salad with a scrumptious mayo based dressing. We also got a cup of miso soup. The teriyaki is not overpowering or overwhelming, and the grilled flavor of the chicken is spot on. My husband got the almond chicken and sweet & sour chicken combo. Always good price, delicious food. Excellent accessibility and comfortable ordering drive thru. I can always say that this restaurant is the first place in my family when I think about what to eat. I always thank the host couple for their kindness and their restrained and refined food.

I came here over 10 years ago, and it was good then. It is still good, if not better. It was nice and quiet, and the service was quick. We got the teriyaki chicken combinations. They come with another entree, salad, and soup. I got the almond chicken with mine, my wife got the sweet and sour chicken. The chicken teriyaki is amazing. We love that it is cooked on a grill and has some char to it. The almond chicken was crispy and tasty. Both of our favorites was the sweet and sour. The sauce was the best sweet and sour we have ever had. It tasted fresh, homemade, and natural; not like a lot of other sweet and sour that tastes artificial. Highly recommend, and we will be back.

The best chicken teriyaki! The quality of the chicken was amazing. I can’t stand fatty bits on chicken. I wasn’t sure what it would be like since it was my first visit. I’m definitely going to be back! I do ceramics a lot at Jan’s Ceramics and this place is so close. I also loved the side salad dressing!
