Longview Public Library

MAGNIFICENT Library. I want to live there. There, or the Longview Post Office, ANOTHER SPECTACULAR BUILDING! I am so impressed! I got five FREE books!! And FREE magazines! Some were National Geo (the Holy Grail of ALL magazines) GRAPHIC!! Love the library. You, Longview, have a beautiful and big library. FILLED with some books! The ones your giving away . . . I don't understand why. Those should be registered and on the shelves.

Covid had closed the library when I visited so I can't provide a review of its offerings. I did take in views of the structure and it was impressive for a small town. The benefactor of the library (and more), R. A. Long, looks to be a bit of an intellect.

People are wonderful there. And lots of events too

Longview's Public Library is a joy. From its beautiful architecture to the ease of internet access, excellent computer systems, and printing services, it is a great place to do most any computer projects or research. Downstairs has a beautiful kids area with fun places to read and a great assortment of books for young readers. The high vaulted ceilings makes it a cool place to get out of the heat as well. The trees nearby are amazing. Just west of the library is a train for kids to enjoy.

Easily the coolest building in southern WA. I was amazed at how beautiful the building is, it just feels so regal! Aesthetically the vibes are immaculate, and has an almost Kubrick-like feel to it. The librarians were also super friendly, helping me print out some pages for work and then later when my car wouldn’t start they were very helpful with getting me to start it again too. This place is a jewel and must be protected and respected as much. I am overjoyed that folks have access to places like this still, and pray that they continue for many years to come. I will come back to Longview WA again, if only to spend an afternoon reading in this place.
