Mill Valley Public Library

One of the most beautiful libraries I’ve ever visited! The northern like, tilted ceiling design, accented with stunning redwood beams, is absolutely striking. I also appreciate their thoughtfully curated furniture—so stylish it feels more like an open house than a library 😂 And don’t miss the Mill Valley Theatre exhibition downstairs—full of fascinating stories !

This library, located in a picturesque town, made me feel like I was reading in a cabin in the woods. I love how some of their collections are not developed based on a particular theory of arrangement. There is a truly stunning collection of books by women writers which go on to show that it is erroneous to typecast women’s writing as purely about relationships. With its scenic views, this place makes you feel at home.

LOVE THE LIBRARY ITSELF My group of friends consists of minorities, visiting this place for the first time, other than our other friend, who has been here a few times! If you are a minority, beware, you will get stares, and you will be damn near be racially profiled in a library. The librarian (caucasian with brown hair and another older caucasian woman with blonde, yellow, platinum hair) continuously came back and forth to check on our group without saying anything 5+ times. Not even pretending to do anything, simply walking up to us, staring, and leaving. Then proceeded to tell us to "Quiet down, other people can hear you from across the room." The most beautiful library I've been to in the US. The owls take it to the next level!

Amazing library sits inside the red wood park with little creek surrounding it. Big tall windows bring the nature inside. There were many categories of book selections. So peaceful and cozy and inviting to read.
