Miki's Restaurant

Wonderful family style restaurant with true home cooked comfort. The food tasted excellent, perfectly seasoned, freshly prepared. Staff was friendly, service arrived quickly. First visit here, definitely planning a return.

Wow, what a great restaurant. We have lived in Matthews for 18 years and this was our first time trying this restaurant. The restaurant itself is not fancy or anything, but certainly the food was amazing. Our server Rachel was super kind and happily answered my questions about some dishes on the menu. We ordered 2 dinners, a side of onion rings, 2 teas and they provided rolls and cornbread. All that came out to $34 before tax and tip. How can you beat that for a home cooked meal!! The only thing I wish I knew about the daily specials that were on the board outside. It was turned so you could not see the back and had I known the daily specials, I would have gotten the fried oysters. We only saw that after we left the restaurant. Miki's has great food and delicious cakes too! I love the variety of cake options. Today, one of my favorite cakes was available. The Chocolate Pound Cake! I was in this area and Googled restaurants near me for lunch on my break. This place stood out to me because of the food looked good on the reviews I came and was greeted by this wonderful cashier. He took my order and his customer service was so good I asked for his name turns out his name is MIKI THE OWNER!!! I was so shocked to see a actual owner working the register not only working the register, but to have great customer service. He was a God sent angel. I had a rough morning and he lifted my spirits!! The food was awesome!! really good. This restaurant has now gained a loyal returning new customer.

Homey feel, food was served quickly and was hot. Saw one of my favorite waitresses from the now closed Jimmy's. The restaurant was full but didn't feel "busy" and you were not rushed to finish your meal. We will be back.
