Mike's Penn Ave Grille

This is a old working town corner bar. If the walls could share the stories that this place has seen. We went there to reminisce about our family that lived and worked in Salem. The food was good and the service was helpful and pleasant. We understand that Friday evenings are very busy.

Went here after going to the bank for lunch. 7 dollar deal for a fish sandwich and fries is a steal. The bartender who was my waitress was polite and courteous. Thank you for letting me know there is still a good place that is not too expensive to eat

Unassuming restaurant on the corner with great food and even better service. I got the 10oz Ribeye cooked to a perfect med-rare with broccoli and brussels. I was honestly skeptical walking into the place, even more so when the steak came out. Ribeye isn’t typically served with au jus, but I was practically drinking it by the end. I thought the orange slice and single leaf of spinach was kind of funny. In the end the steak was amazing so I don’t care about the presentation. Where else can you get a 10oz ribeye with two sides for $20??? Josie was super friendly and so was the bar-back.

First time visit after living in the area for quite a while. Did not disappoint! Had lunch. Ordered the Cincinnati chili. Wow! So good. Will definitely come back. The menu selections are very diverse, from seafood to sliders. Now I know why this is a Salem landmark.

We just stopped in havent been here in 30 years. Food was awesome. House burger for me and for her lobster bisque and crab stuffed baled fish. Perfect experience
