Mike & Cathy's Good Old Days

My husband and I are relatively new in the area and after discovering Mike & Kathy's Good Old Days, we have stopped out to have dinner a few times. We had supper tonight (New Year's Eve) which was wonderful! The filet has been delious every time! We understand Good Old Days ownership is changing ownership, and want to say thanks to the current owners for the delicious food we've enjoyed and hope the new owners good luck.

Kathy the owner - as the owner you should learn how to respect your customers. Bitching at someone for having less people than expected because the others are sick? Cmon. Interrupting people talking because “you need a table” HOW RUDE. News flash, your attitude is going to RUIN your business. I understand having rough days, but seriously get your act together and learn some respect for those who are here to support you & your staff. to our cute short little glasses wearing waiter- you did amazing. you were the light of our night & catered to everything we asked of you! Thank you!

Family style fish and chicken fry on Friday nights is the best in the area. Unfortunately, we tried the Saturday steak night and was very disappointed. Prime rib (king cut) was ordered med-rare and it came out med-well. Filet was ordered medium and it came it well done. Our (excellent) server did acknowledge they looked overdone and she apologized and offered to make it right, but we didn't want to wait or waste the meat so we ate what we had. Both were still tender, so there's that. Hopefully it was just a one-off mistake. We may try again. Regarding the atmosphere, it was very warm in the dining room. There are windows there, but they say "Do not open". It was upper 60s so opening a couple of the windows slightly would have improved the temperature.

My husband propose to me here last year, we love the views out here. Just so gorgeous, BUUUUT would recommend going for dinner rather than anything else if you would like good service. Broasted chicken is delicious !!!!

Love the food and place never miss it when I go to Lake Puckaway..good service...great brunch on Sunday too...
