Mikata Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar

This was my first time attending this restaurant. I had my doubts but they were eased once the cooked started. He was a respectful young man, and if he made a mistake he corrected with the upmost politeness. I've heard different opinions about the food, but this was one of the best Japanese Steakhouses I've ate at in a while. The steak and chicken with rice and vegetables were great. The Both meats were prepared well and really tender!!! I will definitely eat their again. Price point wasn't bad.

We are from out of town and visited Mikata over all it was a great experience. The food was amazing we went for habachi and it did not disappoint. We were going to celebrate my birthday and they made me feel celebrated which was nice, but at the end they came out with a birthday pineapple and sang happy birthday so fun! But then we got our bill and they charged us $5 for the 1/4 of a pineapple that we didn’t ask for or know was coming. Would definitely go again but wouldn’t tell then we’re celebrating anything. We were very shocked they charged us for that.

We had reservations for 5:30, thanks for overlooking that. However our waitress was M.I.A each time we asked for something she would leave and it took her forever to come back. One of the people that was with me asked for a mixed drink and I asked for water when Olivia brought back the drink I then asked about my water and the excuse? She gave me was she did not have time to make the water, correct me. If I'm wrong is putting ice in a glass and putting the water in and she didn't even combat herself, she sent someone else and no lemons that I had requested. So a 6pm turned into us being there just about until they closed. And the chef was excellent

Terrible service. Server never came back. I had to constantly get up to get her. Then they charged us 15% gratuity and there were only 3 of us. Said they do that to everyone. I personally tipped the chef. Server didnt deserve it.

I don't know what has happened with Mikatas, maybe a new owner, but that was a new level of disappointment for my wife and I. Two steak, chicken and shrimp meals with rare steak. No shrimp on either meal and steak was well done. No vegetables on one of the meals. At least the soup was still excellent but the rice wasn't even as good as it was a month ago.
