Mido Matcha

I was excited to try a new matcha place! They have matcha gelato and various drinks. We got a double scoop of the matcha gelato (level 1 and level 2, out of 3) for $8. The texture was somewhere in between soft serve and gelato (so like a slightly icier/less creamy soft serve). The level 1 definitely tasted creamier and sweeter, which I liked. I would rather have matcha soft serve, which I think many other places do better (Kyoyo Haus, Mizu Matcha, Matcha Cafe Maiko). Overall it's a solid option for dessert in Central, but there are better/cheaper matcha options in the area.

Very expensive matcha (came out to over $10). I love that they put real chunks of taro at the bottom of the matcha which was a nice surprise (thought it was going to be taro syrup) but because it was at the bottom, I didn't taste the taro until finishing the matcha. The matcha was slightly watered down and I could barely taste the matcha which was slightly a bummer :(

​I recently visited Mido Matcha and tried their mango matcha latte with brown sugar boba. The drink was quite tasty, with a good balance of flavors, and the boba had a great consistency. While the price point felt a bit high relative to the serving size, the quality of the ingredients and the overall experience make it a place I'd recommend to any matcha fan in the area. ​Standout Drink: The Mango Matcha Latte with brown sugar boba is flavorful and well-made. ​Vibe: The shop has a clean, modern aesthetic with minimalist decor, as seen in the bright interior. ​Premium Pricing: Expect to pay a bit more for the specialized menu, but the quality justifies it for a treat. ​Convenient Location: Situated right on Massachusetts Ave, making it an easy stop for those in Central Square.

It was good matcha. Just be careful if you order matcha with almond or oat milk, they add half and half. I would also recommend getting an extra shot of matcha if you want to have the complete matcha flavor.

While walking down Mass Ave, I noticed that Mido Matcha was opened and had replaced Mogee Tee. Went in and ordered an iced matcha latte with oat milk and an extra shot of matcha. Although a bit pricy because they charge $1 extra for milk alternatives and $3 for the extra shot of matcha, the drink was well balanced and perfectly strong. They use ceremonial grade matcha which is a must for me. Staff was friendly and my drink came out fast. Will definitely be coming back.
