Michael John's Pizza

Best good quality pizza and wings I’ve had in the 10 years I’ve been in CT ! I don’t eat pizza often but when I do it’s this place ! Some may say it’s pricey , it is but it’s so worth it ! Better than NY & Boston for sure !! Highly recommend ! Oh and the recess peanut butter cookies are a delight as well !

Moved to Bloomfield a few years ago and could not find a pizza spot that delivered and had "great everything". Our weekly Friday night orders are our reward for the hard work week, the reward needs to make my stomach and wallet smile. There are three of us in the house and all have spacific things we judge a pizza place by. There are a few things a spot has to have to get a 5 star in my house! We judge on crispy wings, fresh salads that you know were made fresh and can they make a steak and cheese sub. Pizza obviously but we can accept a wide range in that category so we have tested everything from cheese, to meatlovers. I can easily call Michael John's the best in Bloomfield. Beyond friendly! I’ve been to Michael John’s Pizza in Bloomfield multiple times, but today was easily my worst experience and the last straw. I made the grave mistake of ordering a cheeseburger during lunch. After waiting far too long, I asked the owner about my order. He claimed it was “on the grill,” which was clearly not true—they had forgotten the order entirely. I was almost late getting back to work because of it. When the food finally came out, they wrapped it to-go even though I ordered to eat there. The burger itself was awful—burnt, dry, and hard, with about half of it basically inedible. The fries were over-fried and hard as well. To make things worse, I went to the self-serve condiment station for ketchup. Big mistake. The ketchup was old and sour, something I only realized after pouring it

I stopped in here today thinking this was just some small pizza joint. I heard they had slices so I figured I’d check them out. Boy was I wrong! Michael johns definitely has slices, however it is unlike any pizzeria I’ve ever seen. They have tons of different slice options, as well as other Italian classics like Stromboli. I went with the pepperoni (my personal favorite) and a Margherita. Both of them were very very good. The slices were tremendous and covered with toppings. I had the garlic bread as well. It was a good balance of cheese, bread and garlic butter. Prices were reasonable. The coolest thing though was the incredible steady stream of customers coming in on their lunch break to grab a slice of pizza with their coworkers. I think overall, this is a nice place with decent slices. I think they need to work on the firmness of their crust, however, once I finish half of the slice with a fork, I could pick it up and finish it. Lots of choices for slices and decent prices. I don't like that they use the tiny pepperoni, but it was still pretty good. They seem a little disorganized but friendly service. I'll be back. I had a pepperoni slice to go on my first visit and had a BBQ chicken bacon ranch slice and a Buffalo Chicken slice on this visit.
