Mi Casita Restaurant

Not a bad place. Quiet. Friendly and quick service. Lots on the menu, hard to choose, and we didn't try any of the "house specials" so maybe those would be better. My wife had a shrimp taco, she enjoyed it very much. I had a shrimp enchilada plate. LOTS of shrimp in the enchiladas, more than I expected, but the sauce wasn't exciting. Rice was boring. Refried beans were typical, OK, but they put a lot of cheese on them (which I liked very much). If I come back in town I'll probably try another spot just to see if there is something better, although this was fine.

Came in for a quick bite to eat for lunch and was very satisfied. I ordered one fish taco, one asada taco and Colorado burro with a beer.

Tried the tampiqueña, so tasty, meat so tender, shrimp were good, sauce on top was most delicious of its kind, similar to chile relleno sauce. Asada fries, delicious! Enchiladas, beans and rice were all just as delicious. Peach Margarita with chamoy and tajin is one of the best I've had. 2 hr drive from my home. Found it on a day adventure. I will definitely be back to this spot. The service was real too. Friendly and hospitable. The restaurant is a little dark/dim inside but maybe that's just their atmosphere. Definitely didn't take away from the flavor and the service. Generous portions too. Oh and try the warm Carmel churro for dessert!

Authentic! Just one word to describe this place! Been coming to Taft the last month for a project and I’ve tried a different plate every time. There is definitely a Mexican Chef at this place! I’ve had the tampiquena, fajitas, carne asada, and albondigas. All great must try….and go for the house specials…..there’s a reason it says specialties! Oh and they have beer on tap!

We stopped by Mi Casita during a weekend trip to Carrizo Plain. The food was great, authentic and reasonably priced. Good service.
