Merle's American Tavern

Great music. Karaoke every Saturday @7:30pm. The portobello mushrooms were very good! Sidewinder fries are always a hit, especially with their ranch.

The wait staff was very friendly, the menu is full of solid choices but I’m partial to the tenderloin sandwich. The place has 14 tv’s and a good selection of beers and spirits. The food came out fast and hot. Definitely get the “Merle” sauce on your burger and to dip your sides in.

The bartender was friendly and got me what I wanted without even any problem. I didn’t have to read the menu at all. It was fantabulous. One of our favorite people’s Miss Lucille Carter used to recommend the restaurant highly and eat at Merle’s frequently. She has a big family and even a road named after her cause she and her family have so many kids. The music was clean and the atmosphere was good. The only thing that would’ve been better is if I could’ve been a DJ and played my favorite song. They played one of my favorites The Little Drummer boy. It seems like a safe place for kids. They have non alcoholic sodas which is good and the only thing better would be more Celcius and energy drinks. Infusions are all the rage at Sonic where they have a Happy Hour.

Great find! I came into Peculiar Missouri from PA to volunteer with Operation BBQ Relief. I was looking for some place to sit relax and enjoy a meal without a big crowd and "noisy atmosphere". And I didn't want a chain restaurant. I was in luck finding this place and they had live music on the patio, Country Music, right up my alley. After 12 hours of driving this was the perfect place to spend my evening unwinding, enjoying the live music, a delicious salad, and an extremely helpful and pleasant waitress. I will definitely be back next time I am in town volunteering with Operation BBQ Relief. Thank you for a7 great first impression! And whoever this was, have him back again and again, his music and mash ups were great!

The steak salad was amazing and he had the shrimp po boy. Food was delicious. Waitress was super nice. Will definitely come again for lunch.
