Independence Day was a bang! We stayed at this gorgeous B & B over the Independence Day Weekend. If you are looking for Charm and elegance, this is it. This historic B & B are matched only by the genuine hospitality of the Innkeepers Greg and Claire, truly sincere, thoughtful and extremely resourceful! They are extremely nice! Their knowledge, and “down-to-earth attitude is not “top” notch, it is “over” the notch or "off the charts”. Mendenhall 1884 is one of the best experiences we had on a vacation. Located in the charming town of Bath in Berkeley Springs, WV, this B&B exceeded our expectations. Claire and Greg, the owners and operators, welcomed us with open arms from the moment we arrived. My first time at a B&B, and I felt spoiled with the exceptional service. Claire's cooking is amazing, and Greg's hospitality is top-notch. We quickly felt like family. What's inspiring is how they left their successful careers in the Baltimore and surrounding areas to start anew here. Their story motivated me to continue pursuing my own entrepreneurial dreams. The included five-star breakfasts were a highlight, with coffee roasted locally and brewed to perfection. The rooms were spacious and cozy, allowing us to unwind freely.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for my birthday while looking for a peaceful escape from DC, and it was truly perfect. Greg and Claire were incredibly warm and accommodating, and the home is beautiful in an ideal location. Claire is a phenomenal cook, and her meals made our stay even more special. What stood out most was their thoughtfulness. They went out of their way to make my birthday weekend feel special from the moment we arrived, ending it with a heartfelt surprise that meant more than they know. Their kindness truly reflects how much they care about their guests and their business. We will absolutely be back!

My first time visiting Berkeley Springs. My boyfriend and I stayed the weekend at Mendenhall 1884. It was wonderful! Claire and Mayor Greg are amazing people and the food was delicious! They really go out of their way and make you feel very comfortable. I will definitely stay again!
