Memorial Hall Library

Beautiful library with many spaces. Nice children’s area with lots of great books. Activity room with programming. I love the puzzle races and the walk-in watercolor painting. Reserving a book online as easy and members have free access to many benefits and services like museum passes and kanopy movie streaming app.

This library is a hub of city life in Andover. My older kids study here or meet their friends. My younger kids enjoy the many activities hosted by the librarians and spending time in the children's reading area. They host many cultural events, such as recitals, presentations, and even magic shows. The building has a rich heritage. Parking is plentiful in the back lot, but isn't free. You can find a small amount of free street parking.

The memorial hall library is quite good and they have lots of activities for kids during summer break and throughout the year as well. They have a good collection of books, Audio books, ebooks and we can prebook passes for museums and other attractions in the surrounding area. There is also a small play area for the kids . There is short term parking (15min or so) to do a quick drop and pickup. There is also a box outside the library to drop off the books at any time.

Overall, I’d start by saying this library is beautiful and I’m a big fan of the children’s room and the upstairs outdoor patio so I can work. There’s plenty of space and lots of selections of books too. But two things I recommend here: the children’s room just happens to be right next to the entrance and exit and there’s no door that I noticed to the children’s room. As I was about to leave, I turned around for one minute and my son ran off. Luckily the staff was incredible, found him immediately and brought him downstairs, but still, I am still traumatized and my mind went to so many bad places in a second. There’s gotta be a way to keep the children safe within the children’s room in my opinion. Secondly, I noticed theres no changing table in the downstairs bathroom near the children’s r

What can I say about the Andover town library? It's wonderful. Everything you would expect in a library and more! I used to ride my bike there from North Reading when I was a kid, brought my kids there, it's a tradition. One thing that stands out - I first saw David Attenborough videos from there - the original Planet Earth and Life on Earth complete set of videos. (Yes I'm dating myself - in my 50's now.) The Planet Earth series is on it's 3rd now - so very exciting to see a new one - if you've not heard of Sir David Attenborough, naturalist and his videos on animals and plants I suggest to start watching (he also has published books, too) If you love animals and plants these are the best, he also has quite a sense of humor.
