Medway Public Library

Clean, small and quiet. Needs a serious upgrade but has the basics! I'm surprised Medway has not improved this yet. We enjoy coming here for fun reading. I wouldn't rely on finding anything specific tho. Options are limited.

I returned to the library after many years. When I had small children we were there weekly several times. Thereby as always something going on from story hour or summertime bedtime reading or simply looking for new books to read. As they grew I stopped going. Until one day I just needed to get out of the house and went to the library.. what an untapped resource. The joy of holding printed pages and exploring the stacks for hidden gems. But the creator space was new and full of wonderful things I don't have but need occasionally. Sewing machine, large printers ....you really should check it out ..

The staff is amazing here! So kind and pleasant, they can always help you select a good book or provide you with information on how to maximize all the resources available at the library.

Our town has work to do to modernize this library, but I think it's making progress. The Maker Space is the newest addition and while I haven't yet used it I think it's a brilliant way to reinvent the usefulness of a public library. I love the building's historic character. The inside is dated, which I think is important. If we're going to encourage people to go to the library we need to bring the space up to speed. Of usefulness to me would be sound-proofed study rooms. I often use the library as a remote workspace for my day job but there's no place - other than the large Conference Room, which needs to be reserved - to conduct the regular video calls I participate in. While the library features study rooms with doors, they don't have ceilings. Sound travels easily, making me a dist
