McKay's Market

Medium size grocery store with rude older blonde checker, dirty floors and a generally dingy feel. I feel bad for the locals who have to shop here as it’s over priced to the point of double most town stores. Coffee is $15-$18. Two stars is because the parking lot is large. If you are a tourist make sure to stock up on non perishables before you get here. Do better Oregon Coast. The locals were friendly, staff boss was having some harsh words for one employee stocking things. Not a friendly or welcoming experience.

Small produce section, with very limited organic options. Tiny cheese section as well. Often things are not in stock, even basics like leeks. On the other hands, everyone is very friendly. So if you go there to have a chat and maybe find something you need, that's fine. But I often have to drive elsewhere, because things I came to get are either not there, or not fresh enough.

While passing through Gold Beach we pulled into McKay’s for some road snacks The store was clean and very well stocked and organized. There’s a great deli and the staff were friendly and exceptional. We actually stopped there again on our way back!

Just bought a couple burgers, ate the first two, and my friend had the last one, she almost started eating before she saw the massive mould. Just be careful with burgers in there, check them before eating. Left 2 stars as the overall shop was fine.

McKays is a probably my favorite here. The prices on my purchases seem to be less than Ray's with a better collection of eclectic items.
