McAlister's Deli

We have been coming to McAllister’s on Wednesday evenings for a couple years- two free kids meals for one adult dinner is so great. It WAS so great up until some time last year when the portion sizes significantly shrunk. Significantly. I know most places are increasing their prices and I don’t think they did so I accepted that. But tonight was so small I had to feed my 6 year old when we got home. Even worst was the “toasted cheese” my daughter was served. I hope the photo gives you an idea. It must be at least one day old and should have way more cheese. Very hard. Very dry. Like, not even food. They did mildly apologize- no explanation though-and remake and provide a free meal card. McAlister’s Deli is an absolute delight from start to finish. The service is prompt and friendly, making you feel right at home. But the real star is the food—it’s nothing short of gourmet. Every bite bursts with flavor, from their perfectly toasted sandwiches to the fresh, vibrant salads. The balance of ingredients is impeccable, making each dish feel like a well-crafted masterpiece. If you’re looking for quick food that tastes like it was made by a top chef, McAlister’s is the place to go. Your taste buds will be in for a treat, and you’ll find yourself craving a return visit before you even leave! I would recommend the Spicy BBQ Crunch Chicken Sandwich, and quenching your thirst with a sweet tea with strawberry purée. You’ll thank me later 😉

I will start by saying I have been to other McAlister's as a point of reference. The flavors were still good, but as you can see from my pictures, the portions were a little bit skewed. Both sandwiches we ordered had what looked like not even one thin strip of bacon for the entire sandwich and on the club I asked for The Swiss to be swapped out with cheddar and they charged me $1 and gave me two thin slices of cheddar cheese total. Please inform me if my expectations are too high for a $10-$12 sandwich. All in all, I still recommend this place for the quality and taste of the food.

Chastity really went above and beyond for us at lunch today! What a breath of fresh air in an industry where friendliness and warmth are so lacking. Thank you (the food was great also).

My Mother and I a late lunch at McAlister's on the corner of Tazewell Pike & North Broadway in Knoxville, TN yesterday. My Mother ordered the Spud Max minus Black Olives and I ordered a Bowl of their Fire Chili & Just a Spud with Rotel Cheese Dip via the Choose 2. While reviewing the menu, I realized it basically is cheaper to purchase a Gallon of Sweet than it is to buy 2 Large Teas if you are planning to leave with your food & drinks. I ordered a Gallon of Tea to go as well (which was cheaper). Their service was quick and out ordered was correctly. On their menu, I noticed that they added Butter Pecan Cheesecake, Colossal Carrot Cake & a Red Velvet Cookie under the desserts section. Added the Honey BBQ Pork Nachos to their Shareables section. Plus Honey BBQ Pork Spud to their Giant Spuds
