May Garden

The food was wonderful... The only reason I didn't give it five stars was because the rice was a tad greasy. Everything else was spot-on. The owner (May) was there to greet us as we walked in and gave us plenty of extra house made duck sauce which btw is outstanding. I will definitely be returning.

The service was great. The food was good nice and fresh and hot. Not as I remember though. It's good some stuff has not much flavor.

My husband and I went to May Garden for the first time today after a friend had recommended it and after reading some good reviews on here. I am going to start with the positives. Our server was wonderful. She was friendly, energetic, and attentive. The restaurant was very clean and had an overall good vibe to it. We had very high hopes for the food and unfortunately this is where the positives end. We ordered chicken egg foo yong, pork fried rice, and beef with pea pods and mushrooms. The egg foo yong, and the gravy it came with had NO flavor whatsoever. We tried soy sauce, salt (I’ve never in my life had to salt Chinese food) and even hot mustard to bring it to life but it was beyond hope. The beef, pea pod and mushroom dish was horrible. I feel bad only giving them 3 stars but that's how I feel. The high points are that the food is usually good, though occasionally the chicken fingers would be dry. I like that their food isn't overly greasy like many places and their service sizes are generous. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Now for why only 3 stars. We have been ordering from here for several years, usually at least twice a month- when we can. Of the many times we've ordered around 25% of the time the chicken fingers are very dry- like a mummy. Just shriveled, wrinkly hard chunks. I would think their cook would notice and toss those out rather than serve food that isn't edible.
