we needed an extra touch for my grandmothers birthday dinner super last minute & Maxine’s came through for us! The staff was so friendly and kind. They made amazing shortbread chocolate cookies and put them into little bags for each of our dinner guests to enjoy. It was such a special touch & the cookies were absolutely delicious. Thank you Maxine’s!

Nice cute French bakery. I was craving an almond croissant and it was so delicious. Crispy and flaky on the outside, nice almond cream filling. It was superb. Side note- I always ate an almond croissant from Maison Kayser in the city and I thought was the best almond croissants. This is at the same level!!! Will def try other pastries here. 10 out of 10!

Maxine’s is seriously slept on! It’s the only downtown bakery doing everything in-house, and as a French bakery, every pastry hits that perfect sweet spot, enough to satisfy without the sugar crash. I’ve never had anything from them that wasn’t flawless, but their cannelés, cinnamon bun, and custard-filled brioche are absolute stars. Cozy vibes, top-tier treats, this place is a hidden gem that needs more love!! P.S. would love to see decaf espresso on the menu someday!

delicious little bake shop on the main street in west wood. i went in to see what was new and found it, got some macaroons and admired the cute holiday decor. great for a coffee date or to grab some delicious pastries / a sandwich or savory treat. definitely would go again

Recently visited Maxine’s Bake Shop and I was pleasantly surprised! The skylights alone make up half the charm of the interior — bright, airy, and inviting. They use Counter Culture coffee, which was smooth and nutty. I tried the kouign-amann, and wow — it had that rich, buttery crunch on the outside with a dense, almost syrupy texture inside. The lemon tart was solid, and now I’m curious to try the rest of their pastries. Definitely worth a stop if you’re in the area. Highly recommend!
