Max Fish

We had an amazing experience at Max Fish. The food was phenomenal from start to finish. The Passion Project and Lemon Drop Martini were perfectly balanced and delicious. We started with the calamari, which was the freshest, crunchiest calamari we’ve ever had. The marinara was light, flavorful, and not acidic at all. For entrées, we had the Swordfish Al Pastor and Jumbo Scallops à la Plancha—both outstanding. The swordfish was juicy and full of flavor, with an interesting mole that had a subtle curry-like note and a perfect touch of pineapple. The scallops were beautifully balanced, and despite the grapes, everything worked incredibly well. The cauliflower purée was a standout. Service was excellent the entire time. My 3 star rating is based off of my experience today. I do love Max Fish and I have been here many times for dinners and happy hours. I came for my birthday dinner and made a reservation online. When I made the reservation I checked off birthday and also let the waiter know. We got 2 drinks, a raw bar sampler, an order of the prefix special chowder & salmon, and the surf and turf filet mignon and 1/2 steamed lobster. We spent a little over $200. When it came down to dessert I was asked if I wanted a dessert menu. I was unsure if they would do anything special like give a complimentary ice cream scoop or slice of cake or something so I ended up ordering the special tiramisu and asked the waiter to put a candle in it. Always a Top 10 experience! Drink specials were creative and delicious. Food was prepared exactly to order, presented beautifully, and tasted amazing. Angie was a great server. As out-of-towners, we don't get to visit very often, but we are delighted that our high expectations have been met every time for many, many years. Keep up the great work!

We had an early dinner celebrating two birthdays last evening The food was super delicious! But the best part was the service Our server, Kim, was absolutely wonderful! I know our crew ran her around (sorry about that, Kim - lol) and she handled it with such kindness, humor, and ease.
