Matthews Public Library

A sad place that lacks acceptance and creativity. The no food and drink policy says it all. It is always empty because the people running the place would rather have a sterile environment than a place that encourages learning and growth.

This is a great place for whoever has little kids. Not only do they have so many free programs during the week for babies and toddlers and storytime with crafts every week, but they also have a toy room upstairs for your littles to play in if you’re ever looking for that rainy day activity and need to get out of the house for a change of scenery!

I'm grateful that this library exists. I frequently rent DVDs (and they have quite a few "newer" titles) and print stuff, and my favorite fact is that they have books for sale ($1 soft, $2 hard) I've bought alot of good stuff. Staff is always friendly and helpful. I love this place

Very rude, not helpful, won't go back again

It's often quiet and I like that. But a few of the librarians are not very polite... if I'm there close to closing time when the one is there, I always like to leave early because he come around 10 minutes before closing time and says they are closing in 5 minutes. Once he said that to someone he knew and they shot back, "I thought you close at 5." He just laughed and said, "Yeah but I like to have everyone out so I can leave by 5." Not good PR there sir!
