Mattapan Branch of the Boston Public Library

The Mattapan branch of the Boston Public Library is one of those 26 locations across the city where you can get lost in the world of literature. What makes this library really special is the big, open space outside surrounded by plants. It's perfect for a quick break or catching up on some studies. I also want to give a shout-out to the staff. They were so kind and generous. The quietness level could definitely be improved to elevate it to the best possible standard.

A wonderful branch library, clean and roomy with separate kids' and teens' sections, a conference room, even a courtyard that's never open. Has a wide selection of books and a free book rack. But it gets totally sun-drenched on clear afternoons (though the staff always lowers the shades) and very noisy after school.

Ridiculous library with asinine rules that make zero justifiable sense to anyone with common sense as well as a taxpayer and therefore pays the salaries of both operation and salaries of the employees. How are there 3 study rooms near the teen area, yet no adult is allowed in past 2pm, except one day out of the week when most adults daily have video conferences with jobs, remote interviews, need to study, etc? It's disrespectful, egregious and laughable how adults are given less privileges than the teens who may or may not go but they will gladly take our tax dollars to keep the place operational. And if you ask them to justify and explain why you cannot use the room (even when no teens are present and the rooms are CLEARLY empty) they simply shrug their shoulders and give you zero respons

My first time was not too great. I was trying to study for a couple hours in a quiet environment but there were people having loud conversations around. I tried to put my head down for a few minutes because I was so tired but was told to get up. The children there were so loud as well. Its a nice place to go study however there are things you people need to work on.

Staff is very nice, there is usually access to computers unless you have to wait until someone is done because either all the computers are taken or a computer isn't working. Some teens my age or older and younger than me and the kids are very obnoxious and sometimes they disrespect the staff and they kick them out for the day. The library is okay overall.
