This family-owned gem has become a staple in Johnstown. Mastodons makes eating ice cream a fun experience for the whole family. Enjoy your scoops on a cone, in a cotton candy burrito, ice cream hot cocoa, or a dirty soda! They have delicious, rotating flavors that aren’t your typical scoop shop variety —and you can’t go wrong with any of them! My personal favorite is Michigan Pot Hole! Sorbets, sugar free, and dairy free options included. You will adore the owners. They provide friendly service and always remember returning customers.

Amazing ice cream and even better people. The choice in flavors are incredible and everything has always tasted super fresh, but what really makes this place special is the people behind the counter. Matt and Joanna are genuinely kind and welcoming. You can tell they truly care about each of their customers and Johnstown as a whole! Places like this are rare — highly recommend!

Mastadons Ice Cream has been such a wonderful addition to Main Street and to the Johnstown community as a whole. Since opening this past year, they’ve created more than just a place to grab dessert. They’ve built a fun, welcoming spot that families genuinely look forward to visiting. My daughter absolutely loves going there, and it’s become one of our favorite little outings. The atmosphere is always friendly, the shop is adorable, and you can tell there’s so much heart behind everything they do. The owner is amazing, and her family is just as incredible. They’re always coming up with new ideas, special events, and creative ways to connect with the community, which makes supporting them even more meaningful. We love Mastodons ice cream! The beautiful family who owns the shop is amazing and have really integrated themselves into our small community with their kind nature and fun personalities! The ice cream is delicious and they are always coming up with fun ways to engage and new delicious treats! Family friendly and delicious! I would give 100 stars if I could!

Had the opportunity to stop in and try their Oreos Ice Cream. Absolutely fantastic. The owner, Jo is awesome. She takes pride in what she does and I will gladly be back to support her. Wonderful local spot right on Main Street with a great inside atmosphere.
