Masala Express

Masala express is an excellent Indian option in the DC area. Hipender at the front desk was very helpful, smiley and friendly- great service The food was very tasty (not as spicy as I’d prefer) but flavourful nevertheless. The portion sizes are very generous. A curry comes with rice which was a nice surprise. Updated menu attached.

Highest recommendation! I stopped by for a quick lunch with my son and I am so glad I did. We ordered takeout online, but decided once we arrived to eat there at one of their few small tables. DJ could not have been more hospitable. We ordered a chicken tikka masala and a butter chicken. Both were hot, fresh, flavorful and delicious. We also ordered a roti and tandoori naan, which were also excellent. A lot of places skimp on the rice, but not this place. Our meals included a more than generous heaping container of hot basmati rice that perfectly complemented the equally generously sized chicken dishes. My only regret is that I did not discover this place sooner. We loved everything about it and can't wait to return.

We picked up our order to take to friends down in Mechanicsville, VA. Everyone at your shop were attentive and friendly when we got there. Once we made it to Mechanicsville, our friends were delighted with the feast we brought, the food was delish! We like your updated shop and look forward to coming sometime soon to enjoy a meal there.

The food here is good, and the place mainly caters to takeout, though they do have a few tables for dine-in. We tried the baingan curry, dal makhni, rice, and veg biryani. All were tasty and satisfying

One of the best food i’ve ever had in my life. Chicken Momo was so flavorful and juicy. Staff were so friendly as well. Everyone should try their food atleast once. Highly recommended.
