Customer Reviews
Stopped in to get some tortillas for my sister in law. Ended up getting the carne Asada tacos. Tacos were on point. Rice was good. Beans were a little bland. Portions were very large. Id come back for sure.
Maria Elena’s has some of the best tamales 🫔 I’ve ever had!! The flavors are so delicious and addictive! So good. Can’t get enough! A dozen doesn’t go far in our family that’s for sure. The family that owns the place is always friendly and welcoming and helpful! The pink cake is a highlight for us, of each and every visit! And if you catch them on days when they make Al pastor or chicharron (which I’ve sadly only timed right to having once! But soooo delicious) 🤤 Also, can find most of your favorite Mexican spices, seasonings, cookware, drink etc they offer in their store. All in all, do yourself and the family a favor and bring $100 bucks and stock up on amazing, quality food and support a super hardworking family! Keep up the great work Maria Elena’s Bakery fam!! Much love ❤️
Nothing makes me feel happier inside than a lb of carnitas, a pack of Vargas tortillas and a few pumpkin empanadas- if there are tamales available, add that to my order! This is absolutely my favorite place in Saginaw, since I was a little girl. Thank you for never disappointing or leaving!
I just gave you guys a great rating on another site too. So I do hope it helps because their food is so excellent now what I did talk about is for ppl eating Mexican sweets for first time its going to be a lil different. Theirs is deff good but just a bit more bland. Personally if they eased off putting so much fillers, sweetened salts we would eat alot healthier food and be able to taste the sweets. So I may just prefer their sweets. Love this place thanks!
I’ve been coming here for years, and this place never disappoints! The tortillas are always fresh and delicious, and the tamales are some of the best around. The barbacoa is right on point — perfectly seasoned and served in containers now (no more messy foil, which I really appreciate). What really stands out is the hardworking team in the back — the same dedicated people who’ve been there for years, putting their heart and hands into every meal. You can truly taste the care and tradition in their food. The only downside is that the food runs out fast — but honestly, that just shows how good it is! It’s definitely a first come, first serve kind of place, and totally worth it every time. Keep up the great work!
