Maplewood Public Library

I am a nursing student, and this has always been a great place for me to study. The staff are nice, and they have new study rooms! I would recommend checking the study rooms out.

Mini Music with Miss Bridget was very interesting. Watching all the parents, grandparents and nannies interact with their little ones is so neat !! It is fun to watch the little ones become immersed in the music and movement and engage with other adults and children!

This library is wonderful! The librarians are friendly and helpful, they have a fantastic selection of books for kids, and if there is anything they don't have you can probably get it through inter-library loan. I have always found the atmosphere to be calming, welcoming, and beautiful. The kids' area has lots of toys for every age, and it is clear that any child is welcome to play. I have never experienced so much as a "shh" or an annoyed glance when I bring my goofy toddlers; they are so chill, neighborly, and professional. I am even more thankful for this library during the pandemic because they are awesome about getting dozens of requested books together and leaving a message by phone whenever a new one arrives, and they do curbside pickup. I was very disappointed back on June 26, 2024 when I showed up at this "public" library (near my alma mater) with my wheelchair-bound, disabled mother (who is a veteran), desperately needing to take her to the restroom, and was turned away. The lack of empathy from the employee in that situation was very disappointing and shameful.

Great rates for printing: 50 black n' white pages per day for FREE. Can't beat that anywhere. Te paring lot is very small. So you must park on the street or in the nearby neighborhood to find a place. I didn't know that when I first started visiting this library.
