MaMere's Guest House - Inn, Event Space & Vacation Rental

Ma Mere’s is a local landmark in our small PNW university town & I’ve always wanted to stay there. We live a few blocks away & stayed on Halloween night so that we could enjoy grand kids trick or treating in downtown Monmouth — just a few steps away. It worked out perfectly and was just the novel & relaxing “staycation” I was hoping for. We love staying in historic lodging around the country and helping preserve the past. The plush robes & clawfoot bathtub were wonderfully relaxing! At 73 and with two artificial knees the beautiful staircase was totally doable. Can’t wait to come back with grandkids & check out another delightful room. Emily and her brother Eli have added so many fun touches to make memories.

We live in Monmouth & have wanted to stay at this local gem for years. We stayed on Halloween night so that we could enjoy all the family fun a few steps away in the park & at the shops in downtown Monmouth. It worked perfectly and I think we have a new tradition! We enjoy staying in historic lodging around the country & helping to preserve the past. So many thoughtful touches & charming rooms here at Ma Mere’s. We stayed in The Starry Night room & enjoyed the clawfoot tub & plush robes. I want to come back soon with grand girls & stay in the 3rd story Wolf Den. They will love it! My husband and I are both 73 and I have two artificial knees & the beautiful staircase was quite doable. 👍 Thank you Emily & Eli for a fun & relaxing getaway!

I spent a night in the Magnolia Room. The bed was comfortable. The robe was so soft and warm. In the dining room, there is a water kettle ready for guests to make instant coffee, tea or hot chocolate. I enjoyed the pecan pumpkin bread that Emily, one of the innkeepers, had baked where she placed the baked goods of the day on the dining room table. In the kitchen, you can also make some coffee with a coffeemaker. There are nice little touches with products that you might forget such as tiny toothpaste tubes and shampoo/conditioner/body lotion as well as decor and knickknacks making this Victorian house homey. The den is cozy, perfect for movie night. This house is perfect location to walk to WOU campus or into downtown where you can easily find a place to eat or go shopping. Main Street Par

What an unexpected surprise. The pictures made it look welcoming but when you get there the detail of the house is great. We stayed in the den on the top floor which was perfect for me and my family. It is essentially 2 rooms so we can have some privacy. Luckily I had the right expectations for staying in a house of that era so the few things like our room being stuffy and having enough water for a full hot bath weren't a big deal. The water reheats pretty quickly and there was an A/C - heater in our room. I don't have much need to go to Monmouth but I'm hoping to go for another weekend to stay here.

What a wonderful experience my husband and I had staying here. We had never been to the town before and MaMere's was a great central location to lots of walkable places to explore. Ample street parking, easy check-in, good communication.||We ended up being the only people staying that evening and found it delightful. There are games downstairs that you can borrow, so we did so. There was complimentary tea in the room as well as downstairs, and lots of information on the history of the home and the area.||The room itself where the bed was definitely reflected a time period where rooms weren't meant to be giant, but it was ample for the two of us and our one carry-on each.
