Mama Carmela's Deli

We ordered from here through Uber Eats. The prices were not bad, especially for the area and the times we’re in, so we had decent expectations. Unfortunately, the food was a big letdown. Everything arrived cold, overcooked, and burnt. On top of that, it was salty but somehow still had no real flavor. I also asked for cheese and it was not added. Portions were smaller than expected for some of the items. We ordered one platter, two breakfast sandwiches, fries, and two drinks. The order included two eggs with home fries, rye toast with butter, bacon, and a sausage patty, plus a bacon egg and cheese on white bread and another on a hard roll. Lovely place. People are great and friendly. The guy on the grill is extremely nice and made sure I got everything I needed. He noticed I was waiting a little while and was very attentive. Long waits during busy times are understandable but he went above and beyond to make sure customers are cared for. Very good place. I highly recommend if you are in the area. Also the food is very good. Quality and tasty.

Literal hair on my sandwich was just delivered and I tried calling at 415pm to give them an opportunity to fix it but no answer because they close at 4pm. Extremely disgusting and disappointing had been looking forward to a late lunch

Just wanted to give a shout out to the awesome people at Mama Carmela's Deli in Darien. I was just on my way to a client's house and wanted to grab a quick bite. I grabbed some deviled eggs, a buttered roll and a soda. Went up to register to pay and realized I left my debit card at home and had no way of paying. Guys could not have been more understanding. I gave them the three bucks I had in my wallet and they called it even. That just speaks volumes about the great people that own/run the Deli. Eggs were great and the hard roll was as fresh as could be. Thanks again for having a heart. I'll be back to pay my $8 debt and get some more food. Kyle M
