Unbelievably poor experience from start to finish. Staff is very uninterested and uncaring; waited a ridiculously long time for main course to be served. Food quality from a bland and unappealing salad (one that looks like it came from a bag of lettuce) to a hard and unsavory filet mignon. Large portions with no taste. Bread (which we had to ask for - none was offered) served with some sort of butter and honey - neither had taste All other restaurants in the area were full; now I understand why Mallebar was not. Definitely not worth the $$$ . And the bathroom was filthy!
Great experience. I made a reservation for a Saturday at 5 for early dinner for 3. When we arrived, we were attended right away. The host offered to take my coat. They have coat check! We love the atmosphere. Very serene and the music was just right; not too loud and not too low. We were able to have a good conversation. The service was so so nice. The ladies were very attentive making sure we had what we needed like enough water. Our waiter was very pleasant. She recommend options and made appropriate just right conversation. We also had questions about the restaurant and she was knowledgeable. And the food!!!! It was exquisite! We were very impressed. Everything was delicious; cooked right and the meat came as we asked to be cooked. I found that you can find parking easy by pay par
This restaurant started out so strong but has been on a steady decline for about a year now. Last few times has been less than par- having to order your complete meal at once feels so forced and then it is not spaced out at all. I've tried ordering duck twice there now and it is always under cooked even though I request it medium well. I ended up taking it home both times. My partner had steak frites last time we were there and the steak was tiny and the frites were so burned we couldn't believe the kitchen let them leave like that. The staff looks sloppy and lately the bathrooms have been dirty. I also hate when businesses charge you for using a credit card too, that should be the cost of doing business. Especially since some wines are more than doubled! Will not be back anymore.
This place describes itself as serving French comfort food, and that's exactly what we got! The service was impeccable, and also very friendly. We went on a Wednesday evening, so it was uncrowded, but we got the same attention that we imagine we would have gotten on a busy night. The food was delicious, served in a timely manner, but we were completely unhurried. The cheese board was delicious, and the other meals we got were the pork schnitzel, the Atlantic Salmon, and a couple of duck burgers. Where else can you get a duck burger? It was delicious!
I visited Mallebar for the first time tonight. I ordered escargot to start. This was my first time trying the delicacy & I'm so happy I chose to have it here. I had a Caesar salad mid meal. It was such a generous portion that I was unable to finish it as I wanted to save room for the entree & dessert. I ordered duck for my third course. This was an amazing dish. The duck was cooked perfectly and was well paired with asparagus & goat cheese. I finished with Chocolate Decadence for dessert. I ADORED this dish. My many thanks & compliments to the chef. This was a meal I wish I could experience for the first time again. No complaints whatsoever. It’s refreshing to have a meal so satisfying. Service was great & the atmosphere is comfortable. Fruit infused water was served, & I had 3 of the spar
