Nice restaurant in the Newport Marriott Hotel and Spa. Staff is friendly and food is pretty good. Recommend the avocado toast and All-American breakfast option. Beautiful views of the water by the windows and cute dining tables that resemble boats. Simple and easy access in the hotel. Now for my standard comments. Very comfortable indoors and there is plenty of room in the dining area

I don’t recommend the old fashioned drink it was watered down. Steaks were okay and so with the tuna bowl, however the charred octopus was really good. Great service overall.

Had dinner at MainSail Restaurant & Lounge tonight while staying at the Marriott, with a large group on the eve of a snowstorm. Carolyn didn’t miss a beat — wine service, cocktails, and everyone’s dinner were handled seamlessly. She was calm, kind, and attentive despite how busy it was. It was perfect. Really appreciated her.

We went there because we had a 20% off coupon. Also, we tried to make a reservation for 6 or 6:30 pm, but supposedly nothing was available. So we made reservations for 5:30. At no time was the restaurant ever full. Since they had just opened again for dinner, the first thing that was upsetting was that the menu listed under the Marriott/ Mainsail website is not the current menu at all. The current menu is very limited and consits of 13 items, 3 of them being Desserts. The waitress was very nice and tried what she could to please us. The food at the end was pretty good. The duck was cooked perfectly. The Hake I was told was also good. The steak cooked perfectly but a little Salty.

Wait staff was very rude. They seemed angry. The manager seemed nice, but isn't watching closely enough. No water refills. No smiles. I personally said thank you to two members of the wait staff upon receiving my food. No response. Rude interactions between the wait staff and members of my party. Food was below average. How does this place have over 4 stars?!?! Why does Marriott tolerate it? Worst restaurant experience in awhile. Run far away!
