Mahdang Korean Restaurant

4 stars for 4 reasons 1. Beef fried rice was delicious and flavorful All the other dishes ordered were good as well! Nothing was bad here. Not wow but good. 2. The price was about average maybe a bit higher than some places 3. Food came out fresh and hot. 4. Quantity for the price is worth it. Minus 1 star because food took forever to come out. Definitely understaffed.

I had a very nice solo lunch here. The service was prompt and friendly. I got tteok mandu guk, and each element was so tasty, clearly with a lot of care put into the dish. The banchan were tasty—I polished off two of the six. When I got home and unpacked the bag of to-go food I got for another meal, I found two small containers of the banchan that I had finished at the restaurant. I found this to be very thoughtful! I will definitely be back.

The food here has been consistently delicious, with a wide variety of options—from comforting stews to tasty side dishes. Everything we ordered was flavorful and well-prepared. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality and generous portions. Plus, the staff are friendly and attentive, making the whole experience feel relaxed and welcoming. If you’re looking for a casual Korean spot with great food, fair prices, and warm service, Mahdang is definitely worth a visit.

A cozy restaurant with some of the more authentic Korean food in Rockville! My party was promptly seated and served a bunch of sides while waiting for our dishes. We really enjoyed the seafood pancake, stone pot bibimbap, and naengmyeon (sour cold broth noodles). Some of my Korean friends also ordered and enjoyed the combos available. The food was a bit pricey but we all had a great time and enjoyed the food. I will gladly return in the future for their KBBQ which I didn’t have the chance to try last time. 🥰

Update: Finally came to dine in, and food was so tasty! Authentic Korean food that reminded me of home. Service was very good as well. Ordered a delivery, and everything was delicious! Some Korean restaurants in the US provide romaine lettuce, which is never eaten in Korea, so I appreciated how they provided red leaf lettuce and steamed cabbage that are most suitable for bossam. Beef in the beef bone soup was tender and not dry. Will dine in next time to try other dishes!
