1st time visiting this restaurant but it was Small restaurant with a family feel to it. Our Fish/Shrimp and Fries were made fresh and seasoned wonderfully. The owner was super friendly and the customer service was top-tier. The prices are also reasonably priced. It was worth making the 35 mile drive and believe me we will be returning.

⚠️ LONG DETAILED REVIEW ⚠️ I was surprised to see so few reviews & pictures. So I'm about to add a lot. This was my first time eating here. I absolutely LOVED all the plants and greenery.🌿 I was greeted when I came in. Everyone was friendly and helped me and my little brother get seated and offered to let us sit outside. (Which, of course I wanted to do.) 🪴 Our waitress was very friendly and personalable and checked on us frequently. She forgot that I ordered sweet potato fries, but went and got me some. My coke was flat and was not enjoyable to drink. So I got my water out of the car. She also forgot to give my little brother bbq sauce until after he ate his steak fingers. But besides those small hiccups, the atmosphere was enjoyable. The staff was friendly. And the food IMPECCABLE!!!! 🤩

We just tried Mabels for the first time and let me tell you it was delicious! we ordered fried pickles for our appetizer and they were fresh out of the oil and so delicious! the pickles were crunchy and they were lightly breaded which we prefer. they were greasy but that's to be expected when they're fresh. I ordered the fish and chips and it was my first time having haddock, it was a large piece and was very crispy and delicious. I do prefer catfish but that's a personal preference and nothing to do with Mabels. My husband ordered a medium chicken tender meal and it came with so many he has a whole meal left over! Best restaurant in Harris County! We were staying at Callaway Gardens for the weekend and wanted to try a local spot for dinner so we stopped at Mabels since it was right down the road. And we were not disappointed. Our waitress, Mary, set the tone right away with a friendly greeting, and our experience only got better from there. She kindly talked us thru the menu options, making suggestions, and we ordered drinks and apps. We started with fried pickles which were some of the best we've had. For entrees our family ordered the burger, chicken tenders, and butterflied shrimp. It was all excellent. Great service, cute kids "busy boxes" to keep them occupied, good food/ portions, amazing owners! You can tell they truly care about a smooth running operation!
