Luther Burger

Stood in line for 15 minutes, we were all hoping to grab some burger combos, but never made it to the counter before we all decided to leave. It looked they only had one person working at the counter who was extremely slow.

What a bust. The pictures looked very inviting and I was excited to try one of these burgers. Unfortunately the burger did not hit on much. The Patty was cool and the overall satisfaction just was not there. It was a very greasy mess and the waffle fries (that taste like a donut) were mediocre at best.

Overall in summary, a disappointment. I so wanted to love this place since I live right down the street and could’ve come back every few days. What we have here is basically the top end of the fast food spectrum. OK 1/4 pound burgers, well done, with basic topping choices, but on crushed and abused buns (see photo). My daughter’s burger was cross-contaminated with onions, not ordered as such. No allergies in this case but just sloppy prep. Service was average. Waffle fries were flavored by salt toppings and were OK. The concept has huge promise but fell short for us. Won’t return. Edit: if you want a burger on a donut as the bun, the signature style, ask for “Luther style”. This is not remotely explained on the menu or by staff. I discovered after dining.

First time visiting, I tried the Luther Burger with the don't buns. Unfortunately, I was not blown away by it like everyone else. It was a well made, quality burger, however, the sweetness of the donuts pretty much overpowered all other flavors. I couldn't really taste the flavors of the meat, the special sauce or any of the toppings except the onions. The fries were waffle fries with your choice of toppings. I tried the white cheddar, which was pretty good. I do plan on returning and trying a regular burger or possibly a crab burger. I will update my review at that time.

The food is fantastic; burgers are delicious both with and without donut buns (but they're better with). I love the outdoor seating area, even if it is small. It has a very Key West feel to it. This is the perfect place to eat a burger when the weather is right.
