Great place to have a nicer dinner or treat yourself to something a little more upscale. Prices are a little higher but the food and drinks were all extremely good and we enjoyed everything we got. The clam chowder was excellent, and the oysters tasted very fresh. Service was fast and cocktails were well done. The connected patio gets somewhat loud, so if you’re looking for somewhere quiet, the outdoor seating is the place to go. If you’re looking for something on the nicer side, this place has lots of great options for a night out.

Lure Fish House in Ventura, CA is an absolute gem for fresh, killer seafood with a vibe that's chill yet upscale. Their mussel pasta (that Mussels Basquaise style) is straight fire—plump black mussels swimming in a rich fire-roasted tomato broth loaded with Spanish chorizo, queso fresco, and served with garlic bread for dipping—it's bold, smoky, and insanely flavorful. And the Spanish clams (or those pan-roasted basil clams) hit different; tender Venus clams in a garlicky white wine sauce with lemon and herbs, perfect for sopping up with bread or twirling on pasta if you're feeling it. Everything tastes super fresh, portions are solid, and the whole place just delivers that satisfying seafood fix every time. Great spot—definitely go if you're in the area!

Our dinner at Lure last night was the perfect highlight to a deliberate detour. We’re on a road trip to Los Angeles, but purposefully chose Ventura as a mid-point stop to visit Patagonia’s headquarters. My partner, a graduate student at UCB, is researching a capstone project on Patagonia’s business philosophy. For us, this visit is about more than research, and it’s about physically connecting with the city and the ethos that Patagonia embodies. A huge shout-out to the team at Lure! We thoroughly enjoyed our experience. The food was excellent, the ambiance was perfect, and the service was outstanding. Highlights: The weekday happy hour (3 PM–6 PM) is a true gem. We had a great dinner with excellent service. We had the cheddar biscuits which were delicious. We also had the Vancouver oysters and the mussels with chorizo which was delicious. The entrees had mix reviews. My fish and chips were great though they needed some salt. My lady had the lobster ravioli which was drowned in cheese. Personally I don't mind all that cheese but it seemed overpowering to the flavor of the ravioli. But all in all a very lovely end to our day trip to Ventura and for 3 appetizers, 2 entrees And 2 non alcoholic drinks for $110, a great bargain !
