Jess is awesome! I knew as soon as I saw the glowing reviews and beautiful cakes that I had to get something from awkward pastry. Our cake was delicious and gorgeous. Jess takes great care to listen to her customer’s requests while adding her own creative flair and the final product was a thing to behold. Will have to come back in the future for more cakes!

Jess was one of the first vendors we booked for our wedding, as I am a major dessert person!! Not only was the cake she made for our wedding beautiful, it was also extraordinarily delicious! I’m only sad I just got in a few bites at the wedding, so will definitely need to go to the bakery for some more sweet treats. Jess and her team were super professional and easy to work with. Their creativity and talent is unmatched! We also got a variety of other desserts for our guests that were a major hit (especially the chocolate chip cookies!). Highly recommend and will definitely be placing an order soon! 😋

Awkward Pastry was our top choice for a wedding cake without question. Jess, their pastry chef, has a lovely and warm energy that is immediately felt when you walk through the door. She spent a great deal of time with us to review all of our options and provided expert guidance as we designed our wedding cake. The cake tastings she prepared for us were simply delicious and it helped us decide on the final cake design. On the day of the wedding, the cake was delivered on time and in perfect condition. The cake literally looked like a work of art and became the centerpiece of our dinner reception. You absolutely cannot go wrong with Awkward Pastry and Jess is simply a wonderful person to work with who has obviously dedicated her life to her craft.

The best baker in the Ventura game!!! I normally use Awkward Pastry for my birthday cakes but for my wedding I knew who to trust. We used Jess and team for our wedding cake in July and everyone loved it! My mom who hates frosting said it was the best cream cheese frosting she’s ever had. The cake was delicious and the spread was beautiful. So good you’ll eat the edible flowers haha!! Thanks Jess and team for making a memorable day that much more perfect.

We worked with Jess at Awkward Pastry to make a beautiful cake and some smaller treats for our wedding rehearsal dinner since we didn't have a cake on our big day. We gave Jess some broad parameters for the color/design, and she worked her magic! We got this beautiful blue and green painted cake with pops of gold and gorgeous flowers/succulents on top! The cake tasted amazing, probably the best I've ever had. The little lemon bars, brownies, and mini-cupcakes we got were also delicious! Everyone was so impressed and raved about the desserts. Working with Jess in advance was really easy, as was the delivery.
