Luna Pizza Cafe

Been wanting to go here and finally had the chance. Pizza is very good and fairly priced. Meatballs were a bit tough but also great for the price. Had a wonderful Spanish wine….would be great to offer Italian wines to fit the atmosphere and cuisine? Server was attentive and friendly. Extra sauce we ordered was served ice cold because the chef refused to heat it up.

My husband and I are from NYC/NJ and we were absolutely blown away by the pizza here. We had extremely low expectations for Italian food in North Carolina since we are from the pizza capital of the world. But we saw pictures of the pizza online, and thought we’d check it out for ourselves. The owner actually stayed to Italy for awhile to learn how to make this incredible Neapolitan pizza which is why it’s so good. When we asked for some Parmesan cheese for the pizza, we received actual shredded Parmesan from the block, not that grated powder garbage that most restaurants give. Kathy was our waitress and fellow New Yorker. We loved her spunk and personality. We will definitely be returning.

Great hidden gem. Pizza is spot on and you better get the rolled eggplant appetizer. Staff is attentive and always ready to suggest great offerings. A must go to. Go Piraes!

Going to start out by telling you how amazing the owner is. I’ve never seen an owner dedicated to cooking as well as working in the job. The environment is cozy and inviting. It’s extremely clean but I did notice fruit flies consistently flying around. The service at first was questionable as we ordered an expresso martini but waited 15 minutes while watching others get drinks who got here after us. Given, the bartender was extremely busy making drinks and serving them at the same time, just made us feel an odd kind of way. We started with the panzanella salad which if you like a vinaigrette based dish, this is the one for you. One of the best Neapolitan pizzas in North Carolina! I had the margherita pizza. The sauce is the best part of this pie. It’s zesty, but not too tangy. The cheese is high quality and not too overpowering. The crust has good char. It could be a bit more charred at the bottom, but overall an amazing slice. Also, ask for the dipping red sauce for the crust and thank me later.
