We drove an hour just to try the restaurant and it was worth every mile! We were seated as soon as we walked in on a Saturday afternoon. Ordered a dozen large crabs, hush puppies, and Old Bay fries. Everything came out hot and fresh. The crabs had a lot of meat and were fresh. Our waitress was kind and warm. Definitely coming back! Ordered but not pictured: Caesar salad and local oysters (5 stars!)
First time in Baltimore and everybody, including other restaurants we called who didn’t have blue crab recommended this place. Apparently it’s the only place in Baltimore that stocks blue crab all year long cause ordinarily it’s only seasonal from like April to October! Since I hear Baltimore’s known for blue crab, we just had to try it and dashed off to LP! Got there around 8pm, had about a 15 minute wait cause it was jam-packed! It must be that good! Finally seated we ordered the large blue crabs, a dozen for $120. It arrived and came with a shell cracker! Being our first time eating crab, we were just butchering those crabs apart like mad people tryna get to that meat! One of the servers Jamal came running over to ‘save us’! He got some gloves and gave my husband and i a solid tutorial
First time in Baltimore and this place was recommended to me. Loved all of it. The food was amazing, staff is friendly (specifically my waitress), and the prices weren’t too bad. I had the crab cake, old bay fries, the 1/2lb steamed shrimp (which was the sale of the day), and a large steamed crab. My waitress was so friendly she taught me how to break open a crab and all (I’m from west Texas, we don’t have crabs there). Though the seasoning can be a lot and quite salty, it was delicious. Definitely coming back when I’m in town again. Steamed crab - 9/10 Shrimp - 9/10 Crab cake - 7/10 Old bay fries - 10/10
Went to LP Steamers as we were around the neighborhood. Prices are reasonable and I guess a favorite place amongst locals. Indeed quite a laid-back vibe. The food is just ok, maybe I had a bit too high expectations based on the high numbers of positive reviews.
First to start off the ambience was really nice. It was relaxing and felt homely. The servers were very nice and attentive. The music in the background was nice and low not too loud. They had TVs. I could watch the game while I was eating but most importantly, the food was good and the prices were reasonable. We had the snow crab legs, the crab soup, the 1/2 lb of shrimp and the fries. Everything was great only thing I have a complaint about is the fries had too much Old Bay seasoning on it so the fries were salty. A little too salty, but we still ate it. It didn’t ruin the meal so we give this place a 9.5 out of 10 and we will back.
