Los Tres Magueyes

So I went here a few days ago. Been dying to try this place because I always pass by it on the way to work and I love Mexican food. I was pretty disappointed in just about everything though. Our server was very sweet though and the layout of the restaurant is nice. I’ve had people talk highly of it to me and man it was a let down. And I tried a fair amount of food. The queso dip was good. Flavorful and not too spicy. I got the Quesadilla Grande to start. Bland as can be and it just didn’t taste fully cooked through. I got the Special Dinner, which came with a chalupa, chile relleno, a beef taco, an enchilada and a tamale with refried beans and rice. Everything tasted relatively bland, they all had almost all the same flavors, almost reminded me of Taco Bell meat inside. The rice was basica

I got the Special Dinner, which came with a chalupa, chile relleno, a beef taco, an enchilada and a tamale with refried beans and rice. When I got my meal, everything was ground beef. I asked the waitress why is it ground beef. She basically said it's my fault for not specifying what I wanted. Since I didn't they just made it ground beef. But no where in the menu it said I needed to be specific. She should have told me or double check. I ended up sending the food back and leaving. I lost my appetite after that. If I wanted cheap "mexican" food I would've gone to Taco Bell. It looked exactly the same 🤷🏽‍♀️

It was moderately busy and only 2 servers but we sat at the table for ten minutes before we were acknowledged by the staff. Food was barely warm. Disappointed as we always have a great experience here. The food was not as good as it should be. Bad experience this time.

My office used to be across the street from this Los Tres Magueyes. And back in the day, we would eat lunch here as many 4 or even 5 days a week. We’ve since moved the office so I don’t get by there nearly as often as I should, but took the family there Monday evening for dinner and the manager/owner was still there working as hard as ever. We spoke briefly about the past and he informed me that he just celebrated being for 30 years. Time flies…. Anyway we enjoyed the full compliment of chips and salsa, then I finished with Verde pork burrito. Amazing, just like it was 30 years ago.
