Great casual family-owned business that is happy to ensure you have a great meal. We love the molcajete; full of tasty protein and nopales and the choripollo. Anything with the chorizo is well-seasoned and delicious. Ask for the spicy salsa if you like heat and flavor. We always end up taking the rest of the salsa home. They make their corn tortillas in-house daily. The tortillas are always warm, supple, and are the perfect complement to many dishes. Plus they have a rewards program. Super friendly wait staff to boot!
Really impressive dinner this evening! After a very bad experience at another Hampstead Mexican Restaurant, we were so glad to find our new go to spot. Menu was diverse, offering just enough options to reflect that the items are made in house. Food was incredibly flavorful, quality ingredients (steak was tender and well seasoned) and fresh. We enjoyed 2 combo plates and the enchiladas, burrito & steak tamale were standouts. FRESH chips, salsa and queso were a great way to start. Dessert was a great way to end. Wonderful fried ice cream and cherry cake (the special) was prepared with care. But by far even surpassing all of that, was the service. I could go on and on about Jonathan and Hugo. The Father and Son team make this restaurant Beyond special and even if the food was bad I would co
Typical Mexican restaurant for the area. The salsa served with chips as an appetizer was pretty good. I asked what kind of meat was in the tamales and got the weirdest explanation. The waitress said they'd put whatever meat I wanted in the tamales before they served them. Then, there was no meat at all in my tamale. I've never had an empty/all masa tamale before. Very weird. Maybe it's a regional thing? I still ate every bite. My husband loved his fajitas.
Excellent burrito. Had the Los Primos Burrito and house 20 ounce margarita on the rocks with salt. Chips and salsa came out really quickly as did the margarita with a glass of water. My waiter offered to refresh my salsa when he noticed I was low. Very tasty dish, well seasoned with authentic Mexican red sauce. Wait staff was attentive and friendly. Not too crowded for a Wednesday evening. I parked in the food lion lot so didn’t mind the slight walk.
This is the best Mexican food I have had in all of Eastern NC. It is absolutely delicious and extremely fairly priced. 100% reccomend
