Can we just talk about this delightful little family-owned gem of a place in Centralia? We had a bit of everything and the consensus around the table was that Los Agaves is the best Mexican food we've had since living in El Paso. Their tasty corn tortillas are homemade and the perfect thickness. We ordered Molcajete, tamales, street tacos, carne asada, an enchilada with hard taco combo and fried ice cream. We left satisfied and full! My only suggestion is to add some more flavor to the guacamole, it was pretty bland for the price but a good portion size. Customer service was amazing. The gentleman helping us was friendly, informative, observant and highly competent. This is place is a great asset to Lewis County and Washington in general.
Update: 9-19-24 We came in for dinner, both to dine-in and for take out. We ordered a Mega Burrito with chicken to-go and had the Fajitas burrito and Camarones Al MOJO for dine-in. The flavors of the hot food were good. The service was not good, he did not offer refills on our beverages. The chips serves at the table tasted old, stale. The take out food was delicious.
The tacos were tasty (I appreciated that the tripa was bien dorada/extra crispy without my even having to ask for that, yay!) so I would’ve given 5 stars but I had to take one off for the strange thing the (otherwise very respectful and nice) staff member did when I asked to use the restroom. For some inexplicable and very bizarre reason she decided to incorrectly assume I was a man (for reference I’ve been a woman all 40 years of my life, I just happen to have a short haircut, as do millions & millions of women all over the world) as she told me to use the men’s restroom, which was so odd because both restrooms were right next to each other and there was no need or reason at all for her to specify which one she wrongly mistook me for. I was already walking towards the bathrooms which were
Quick service, friendly server! The food was great! The chips were crunchy and warm and the salsa was spicy (good thing) . Definitely will go back! Enchiladas were my favorite!
1st time trying this restaurant. I ordered a pork tamale and prickly pear margarita. Both were homemade and delicious. My daughter ordered the mole enchiladas. We weren't a fan of the mole. It was very potent (cinnamon/nutmeg etc). Staff were friendly and attentive. Salsa is tasty but spicy (and I love spice)
