Long Beach Island Library

Pretty standard library. Books, books and more books. In the lobby there's what appears to be a permanent mini book sale so if you forgot your beach read, you can grab a used book for a couple bucks. Win. Pleasant children's section for the little ones. When we walked in they had boxes of Legos in a conference room, so that could be awesome on a rainy day. Nice place.

For use of borrowing books, this library is good. The staff are kind and helpful on that front. However, the idea that it is marketed as a good study space is one I strongly disagree with. Both staff and patrons alike do not make any effort to maintain a quiet and academically conducive atmosphere. Coming here routinely for two consecutive summers taking summer classes, I have had nothing but difficulty focusing on my work which has taken a bit of a toll on my performance. Again, for traditional library use this is a well enough spot but I do not recommend studying here.

A great library with very kind and helpful staff. Awesome programs for kids and older all summer long. If you need absolute quiet for studying I recommend going elsewhere.

a good library but i'll agree that it's not quiet enough for studying. a quiet zone would be nice!

Staff very knowledgable and friendly with all types of people. Love the selections and available movie nights and crafts for children. This library can be very loud, and not because of kids. Several customers do not have an inside voice and sometimes staff is crazy loud too. Still, its a great library with fantastic resources.
