Locales Tacos y Tequila

Locales Tacos and Tequila is a very cute restaurant that is a bit unassuming when you approach, however is warm and brightly decorated inside, with a nice California Mexican vibe. The Staff are all very friendly and Inviting. Food was solid, from the chips and multiple Salsas, to the Tazon Bowl, with good authentic flavors. Nice, clean flavors coming through all of the dishes - the Southwest Salad with Carnitas was a great portion, but also was refreshing and lite, a very satisfying dish. Worth a visit for Lunch or Dinner !

Came here for the first time this week after discovering the restaurant on IG. Coming from California, I’m always on the hunt for great Mexican food on the East Coast, and the menu immediately reminded me of a taqueria I used to love in San Francisco. As expected for a Friday night, it was busy and we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. While waiting, we noticed the hostess eating chips from under the chip heater at the front of the house. I completely understand grabbing a quick bite behind the scenes, but seeing this in the guest waiting area felt a bit off. We were also seated after another party who arrived later than us, and they appeared to be regulars. The food itself was good, and our waitress was friendly. There were four of us. We all liked what we ordered and agreed we'd come back. Food was good, service was attentive and well paced. We didn't get alcoholic drinks, but those were clearly an attraction for nearly everyone else there on a Tuesday night. It was busy.

When I was 23 I packed up and moved to California. My friends were surfers and we traveled the length of the Baja numerous times from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas. We ate the local food and drank on the beaches of Mexico. There hasn’t been a place back east that I have enjoyed like Locales. It truly is a wonderful place. Fast, clean, the beer is ice cold. Stop in. Best wings around too.

This is the closest to authentic fish tacos that I have had anywhere in Massachusetts. They make their salsa in-house and the margaritas are wonderful as well. The staff is very nice and I have a wonderful conversation with the manager. I will certainly be visiting this spot many more times in the future.
