Live Oak Branch Library

I wish they had a better Palestine history book selection. Otherwise I love this library. Beautiful woodwork inside and Beautiful outdoor area.

This library is clean, organized, and well staffed. It feels safe and I bring my preschool aged daughters here without hesitation. A wonderful selection of books for readers of all ages. A children's section that has books, toys, and computers for only them to enjoy. Jasmine was extra helpful in directing me to the books I was looking for and has an exemplary demeanor when dealing with anyone, especially children.

A standard local library but with a great view! Not only can you pick up your books here after ordering them in from other Santa Cruz locations, but you can also check out everything that they have to offer! Books, DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, computers, a kids area, bathrooms, and some benches outside for you to relax, read, and soak up the sun - and the view! There are a ton of other things they offer, so make sure to talk with the staff to make sure you're getting the most out of your membership! Overall, it is your standard library, but how many libraries do you know with a view of a lagoon and the ocean in the distance? Depending on the time of year, you'll be able to find ducks and other birds hanging around, and if you're lucky, some ducklings too! I have never had an issue with parking

Overall I like the library. There are enough desks and computers for visitors to use. More seniors are here. However the noise level can be high. The library staff doesn’t seem to care to remind people they need to be quiet and sometimes talk even louder than anyone else.

I mean, how can you *not* give this library 5 stars? Located right on Corcoran Lagoon in Live Oak, off of Portola Drive, this library seems unassuming when you first pull up, but BOY does it have a lot of offerings. As one of 10 libraries in the SCPL, this branch underwent a number of renovations a few years ago, which have definitely helped to enliven the space. I thoroughly enjoy sitting in the "reading room," where all of the local and national magazines and newspapers are located, as well as spectacular views of the lagoon. The space also has a Children's section, which is very popular for kids young and old, and the library as a whole offers a wide variety of services, classes, and events for community members to take part in.
