I came here for dinner today on a weekday and was seated pretty quickly. There were a few empty tables when we arrived and one waitress. The dishes took some time to arrive (around 20 minutes). I ordered 2 momos (one chicken and one beef filling) and a beef noodle soup. The noodle soup was rich in flavor and the dumplings were juicy. I also asked for their specialty drink which is called Butter Tea and it’s a salty tea/milk drink. I didn’t like the drink much because I personally prefer sweeter drinks but I still ordered it anyway just to try it. The waitress was nice and friendly. This is my first time trying Tibetan food and I was pretty satisfied. I will definitely come back here again.
Came here on a dinner date. Walked in and found seating instantly despite it being a small establishment. Being the only front staff, the waitress was extremely busy throughout our time, taking orders and going in and out of the kitchen. She was extremely kind and hospitable. Got our food after a reasonable wait and it was very delicious. The overall atmosphere was clean and cozy. Will come back in the future to try out other dishes.
Hair Found in Food + Retaliatory Staff Behavior Saturday, November 15th ~ 3pm 80-07 Broadway, Elmhurst, NY 11373 When it appeared the waitress did not want to take our order, I took the initiative and went to the register to place it there. She had shown no communication or interest in assisting us prior, since letting her know we needed a minute to review the menu. While waiting for the food, a member of the kitchen staff bumped the table with enough force to move it noticeably and startle my daughter. The force did not seem accidental as she tried to play it off, and the apology that followed appeared theatrical. After exiting, the staff member laughed with a friend outside. Less than two minutes later, she returned and went directly back into the kitchen. This raised concerns about *
I knew it would be amazing before we even walked in. We picked four dishes between the two of us and it was plenty. The flavor was strong on the dishes themselves, and the two sauces complimented every dish nicely. We got pork chili, cucumber salad, and two different momos; they were all excellent. We were surprised by a cheap bill at the end. It hit the spot!
This is my favorite Tibetan restaurant in the 5 boroughs. Will recommend the gyuma (Tibetan sausage), thenthuk, and liang fen, and no one makes jhol momos like them! They bring out 8 huge, juicy, soup-dumpling shaped momos for $9, pretty affordable. Make sure to bring cash or have zelle ready. Only one thing, the last time I went there, they were burning A LOT of incense. As someone who is very sensitive to fragrances, this did turn me off a bit. Just my preference though.
