Les Saisons

The owners and managers Art and Libby were absolutely a delight to meet. The house is almost two hundred years old and feels like you are stepping into a time capsule when you enter. The details in furniture and decor made me never want to leave. It was such a beautiful house. Breakfast is also included in your stay (if you wake up early enough!) and the town itself was so cute and historical; I’d recommend just taking a drive around. If you need help with anything, Art was always there to help with any concerns but also gave us space to enjoy our stay. We were mostly alone during our time there. It is an old historical house so do not expect super modern and luxurious rooms. Enjoy the house for what it is.

My sister and I stayed at this bed and breakfast for 4 days as we attended to family business in Maplewood. While the owners were very personable, they never seemed to know we were staying there, or when we were leaving. Until we had to settle our bill.The house was empty except for us, but we had to share a room because guests were coming in on Thursday. Seemed odd. Room never cleaned, no set breakfast menu or directions on what was continental breakfast. Erika who makes breakfast, warm engaging fabulous and really the best part of the stay. House was hot, bathroom cramped and shower was very small. I have stayed at many bed and breakfasts this one not a place I would return. Could be done much better.

We spent a long weekend at Les Saisons and really enjoyed our stay. The property was eclectic and extremely charming. We stayed in the Spring Room which was large and inviting. The attached bathroom was huge and had everything we needed. Erika took great care of us and cooked an amazing breakfast. Very friendly, relaxed and welcoming. We will definitely be back and have already recommend it to our relatives who live in the area.

We stayed at this property from December 25th to 28th, though our reservation was initially until the 29th. Unfortunately, we decided to leave a day early due to a series of issues that made our stay far from enjoyable. The property is indeed as old as advertised, with some charm, but clear signs of neglect have caused noticeable deterioration. The beds, including ours and our children’s, were squeaky, hard, and uncomfortable—you could feel the springs. Not what we expected from a place marketed as a B&B. We stayed in the “Sunrise Suite.” On our first morning, while I was showering, our downstairs neighbor knocked on our door to inform us that water was leaking into his closet below the shower. I have stayed here twice now and will come back whenever we need a place to stay in Essex County! Art and Libby have created such a comfortable space with rich historic features. I highly recommend this BNB over any hotel in the area. The rooms are charming and the mattresses are comfortable. Plus, you get a great home cooked breakfast in the morning from Victoria 😊! 5+ stars!
