Ledyard Public Library

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I feel this needs to be said. I visited this library with a few of the individuals I work with, all of whom have special needs, including autism. We were so happy to see how excited they were to be there, especially one who loves Elmo books. Unfortunately, our experience was not a pleasant one. A staff member told us that we couldn’t be in the children’s section because the kids there might feel “intimidated” by my participants — even though there were no children at all in that area at the time. She said this in front of my participants, and one of them, who is verbal and understands perfectly, became sad after hearing her words. We felt discriminated against, and this situation clearly violated basic human rights and the Americans with Disabilities Act

Very great library! Many options for adults and children. Recently started going this summer and my daughter adores it. The summer programs were really spectacular, we both loved the various ones offered but the kids cooking class was our fave! Definitely worth checking out!

So many book options for kids and adults. The staff are so nice there is a whole room of books for toddlers. They have music albums and movies

My mom had a great time at the Artist and Writer's exhibit and Edible books program today (3/28/2015).
