Latino Bites made a name for itself with its fire food truck, and now they have pulled up to Sunnyside, Queens with a full blown restaurant serving everything from fresh made to order juices to authentic Colombian specialties and bold Mexican favorites. Do not sleep on their Mecato, basically Doritos on steroids, loaded, sauced, and stacked with crazy flavor in every crunchy bite. The tacos and rice plates hit with that homemade kind of love. Add in the warm lively vibe and friendly smiles behind the counter, and you have more than a meal, you have a whole experience. Sunnyside just got a serious upgrade.
COLOMBIAN AND MEXICAN…on the same MENU!! The menu here has everything your heart desires! The have all your favorites from both cuisines and everything is fresh and made to order Gotta try the Colombian burgers and hotdogs along with that Latino Fried Rice! They have crazy daily specials and is super affordable with most of the menu under $15
I’ve been to the Northern Blvd location before, but this was my first visit to the Sunnyside spot. One thing I really appreciate is the consistency in taste and menu options — you know what you’re getting every time, and it’s always good. I will say, I enjoyed the atmosphere at the Sunnyside location more. It felt more relaxed and less like a club. Even though it stayed busy the whole time we were there, it didn’t feel overcrowded. Parking was also a lot easier, which is always a plus. We visited Saturday night around 10PM and the place was still nonstop busy — definitely a good sign.
I really wanted to like this new spot place since the other location in northern has so much hype and I enjoy supporting local Latino restaurants, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing. I ordered to go for me and my coworkers and found a piece of gum in my food which was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. I get it mistakes can happen, but finding something like that in your meal is extremely concerning and shows a lack of care in food handling. I truly hope the owners take this seriously and make improvements, because no customer should ever have to go through that.
The food's amazing. It reminds me of fast food back home. However, the restaurant feels rather small and uncomfortable. They also don't have a washroom, which is quite inconvenient for a fast food place. Also, they charge 18% mandatory tip if you dine-in. Plan ahead.
