Las Chaparritas

I first had their corn tortillas and frijoles puercos, and OMG! They were delish!!! This past weekend I went to pick up an order of beef flautas, which left me so disappointed. Their beans and corn tortillas are really really good though.

I will tell you I am a connoisseur of Mexican food and these are probably by far the BEST chips I have ever had and with just a few ingredients. Absolutely no MSG or preservatives!!!

If you, like me, are traveling from abroad and are looking for a good Mexican restaurant where you can sit, eat, and drink… this is NOT the place. This is not an actual restaurant. It is more of a Mexican food store. Their motto sums it up: “Homemade Same Day Cooked Goods”. It’s somewhere BETWEEN a store and a restaurant. Don’t make the mistake I did by Googling a local Mexican restaurant, driving all that distance to get there, only to find out it isn’t a restaurant at all. Consider this a Public Service Announcement. The four stars given represents their average review rating so as not to hurt them too bad (I have to leave a rating so as to leave this message). I’m sure they are very good at what they do, but it is not a traditional restaurant.

Las Chaparritas is one of my favorite spots in town. The tamales are delicious, the tortillas de harina are always fresh and soft, and even the ice cream is amazing. Honestly, everything they make is really good you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. The staff is always welcoming, and you can tell they care about quality. I’ll definitely keep coming back.

Really good authentic food. the best quality, the tortillas are handmade like my grandma made them, the flours my favorite paired up with there charro beans , the tamales taste better than any other i had in the city glad to know i got my 1 stop shop for holidays or my daily tortillas stop
